Last week the whole of the Pacific Northwest was overwhelmed by a heat wave, with the high temperatures breaking all time records. Here in Penticton we were seeing daytime temperatures of around 44°C/111°F!
Despite the heat, the Canada Day Car Show & BBQ at Penticton’s Elk’s Lodge #51 this past Thursday was lively and bustling as folks came out to enjoy the vintage cars and live music by my favourite local band. Performing that evening: Roger, Roger, and Leslie of Midnight Special Band, who I have had the pleasure of working with since the start of 2020 (New Years’ Eve event at Slackwater Brewing).
I don’t want to go saying too much about the success of the evening (beyond the fact that the burgers were absolutely delicious!) and I’m just going to let the photos speak for themselves. Here are my favourite shots of the evening :
* I intend on adding information about the cars pictured, but I am in need of assistance! If you know something about any of the cars without listed details, I would be very grateful if you could submit that information via the form on my Contact page
Want to know more about the band ?
Midnight Special Band
Thanks to the band for inviting me out for the event, to the Elks for providing quality entertainment and, again, for those super juicy and delicious burgers! This was a great opportunity to get out and practice with my new camera – I look forward to the next event!
Happy Canada Day!
